BA-IVHFH Invisa Hatch™ Drywall Inlay Access Panel with Fixed Hinges
The BA-IVHFH Invisa Hatch™ Drywall Inlay Access Panel with Fixed Hinges provides discreet access to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems in wall and ceiling installations. Fully concealed hinges, latches, and frame components allow the panel to disappear into finished drywall once installed and painted.
The panel features a minimal 1/16" reveal between the inner and outer frame and is recessed to accept ½" or ⅝" drywall inlay. This concealed design makes it ideal for modern commercial interiors, high-end residential projects, and other spaces where aesthetics are a priority.
The panel opens using touch latches and includes safety chains or cables to control door movement during access. Its fixed hinges support flexible installation. In wall applications, the panel may be configured to open left-to-right, right-to-left, or top-to-bottom. For ceiling installations, positioning latches away from adjacent walls improves operation.
If a project requires non-standard dimensions, custom sizes are available up to 60" on one side, with a maximum perimeter of 160".

Why Should You Use the BA-IVHFH?
- Blends Invisibly: The concealed hardware and minimal 1/16" reveal make it virtually undetectable on finished walls and ceilings, so it won't disrupt clean, modern interiors.
- Installs Flexibly: Fixed hinges let you install it to open left-to-right, right-to-left, or top-to-bottom in walls. In ceilings, you can position latches for easier reach.
- Suits High-End Projects: The architectural design and seamless integration make it suitable for commercial spaces, upscale residential builds, and any project where visible access panels would compromise the aesthetic.
- Stays Secure: Touch latches provide quick access without visible hardware, while safety chains or cables prevent the door from swinging open unexpectedly. Lock options add an extra layer of security when needed.
- Scales to Size: With custom sizes up to 60" on one side and a 160" perimeter, you can fit the panel to your exact opening without adjusting framing to standard sizes.
Installation Instructions
- Find and Measure the Location: Identify the ideal installation spot and note any nearby studs and joists. Measure the inside frame dimensions and add 3/8" (9 mm) to each side for the rough opening size.
- Mark and Cut the Opening: Draw two perpendicular lines on your wall or ceiling, 1¼"–4" (32–102 mm) from any stud or joist. Verify the lines are square before cutting a clean opening with a drywall saw or utility knife.
- Insert and Fasten the Panel: Slide the access panel through the opening and pull it back firmly into place. Drive screws into the panel frame, spacing them no more than 4" (102 mm) apart.
- Test and Finish the Surface: Confirm the door opens and closes properly, then apply drywall compound around the frame. Allow it to dry, then wipe the frame and door clean with a damp cloth.
- Install the Safety Cable: Secure the safety cable to finish the installation.
The BA-IVHFH Invisa Hatch™ Drywall Inlay Access Panel with Fixed Hinges combines concealed hardware with flexible installation options to meet the demands of non-rated wall and ceiling applications.
