BA-F1 Drywall Inlay Access Panel with Fixed Hinges
The BA-F1 Drywall Inlay Access Panel with Fixed Hinges is a flush-mount access solution designed for finished walls and ceilings. Built with high-grade aluminum inner and outer frames and a minimal 1/16" reveal, this access panel blends seamlessly into the surrounding drywall once installed and painted. It provides virtually invisible access to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
The BA-F1 is compatible with both ½" (12.7 mm) and ⅝" (15.8 mm) drywall and can be used in wall and ceiling installations. In wall applications, the panel can be configured to open left-to-right, right-to-left, or top-to-bottom. For ceiling installations, latches are recommended to be positioned away from adjacent walls for easier operation.
Access is controlled by standard touch latches and safety chains, with optional lock upgrades available. It's a ready-to-paint panel, so finishing it to match the surrounding wall is straightforward. For larger openings, the BA-F1 is also available as an oversized double-door option.

Why Should You Use the BA-F1?
- Flush, Invisible Appearance: The 1/16" reveal between the inner and outer frame keeps the panel flush and seamless, so it disappears into the wall once installed and painted.
- Flexible Installation Options: Whether you're working on a wall or a ceiling, the BA-F1 can be configured to open in multiple directions, so you can adapt it to the space without compromise.
- Controlled, Secure Access: Touch latches make it quick to open. Meanwhile, the safety chains prevent the door from swinging freely, which is important on active job sites and in shared spaces. Lock upgrades are also available if extra security is needed.
- Scalable Support for Large Openings: For wall openings that exceed 40" x 40", the BA-F1 double-door option maintains the same invisible appearance with no middle bar and a large, clear opening.
- Custom Size Availability: Single-leaf doors can be sized up to 40" x 40" (160" perimeter), and the double-door version goes up to 80" x 40", giving you room to fit the panel to your project.
Installation Instructions
- Locate and Measure: Choose your installation spot and record the positions of nearby studs and joists. Measure the inside frame dimensions, then add 3/8" (9 mm) to each side to get your rough opening size.
- Mark and Cut the Opening: Draw two perpendicular lines on your wall or ceiling, positioned 1¼"–4" (32–102 mm) from any stud or joist. Confirm the lines are square, then cut a clean opening using a drywall saw or utility knife.
- Fasten the Panel: Slide the access panel through the opening and pull it back firmly into place. Drive screws through the drywall into the panel frame, spacing them no more than 4" (102 mm) apart.
- Test and Apply the Compound: Verify the door opens and closes properly, then apply drywall compound around the frame. Once dry, wipe the frame and door with a damp cloth.
- Install the Safety Cable: Attach the safety cable to complete the installation.
