BA-F3 Drywall Inlay Panel for Wall Tiling
The BA-F3 Drywall Inlay Panel for Wall Tiling is a removable, recessed access door for tiled wall applications. Built with a welded aluminum frame and a drywall inlay, the panel accepts tile directly on its surface. It maintains alignment with surrounding tile and grout lines while providing concealed access to plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems.
A moisture- and mildew-resistant greenboard base comes standard, making the BA-F3 ideal for damp environments such as bathrooms, commercial kitchens, and wet utility areas. Once tiled, the panel integrates seamlessly into finished wall surfaces with no exposed hardware.
The fully detachable door opens top to bottom using standard touch latches, and integrated safety chains control door movement during access. The BA-F3 is compatible with both ½" and ⅝" drywall and is intended for wall installations only. Standard sizes are available up to 24" x 24", with custom sizing available for larger openings.

Why Should You Use the BA-F3?
- Almost Invisible When Closed: It blends in with tile and grout lines, so there's no visible hardware or disruption to finished surfaces.
- Easy to Tile and Maintain: The fully detachable door lets you tile it separately from the frame and remove it just as easily when access is needed.
- Reliable in Damp Environments: The moisture- and mildew-resistant greenboard keeps it reliable in bathrooms, commercial kitchens, and other wet areas without additional waterproofing.
- Safe and Secure for Shared Space: Touch latches give you quick, simple access, while the safety chains stop the door from opening on its own, which is important on job sites and in shared spaces.
- Adaptable to Any Project Size: Custom sizes up to 24" x 36" are available, so you can fit the panel to your project instead of working around a standard size.
Installation Steps
- Mark the Location: Identify the installation spot, noting nearby studs or joists. Measure the frame's inner dimensions and add 3/8" (9 mm) to each side for the rough opening.
- Cut the Opening: Draw two perpendicular lines on the wall or ceiling, keeping them 1¼"–4" (32–102 mm) from any stud or joist. Verify the lines are square, then cut a clean opening.
- Secure the Panel: Remove the door hatch and fit the frame separately, latches facing up for wall installations. Push the frame through the opening, pull it firmly into place, and drive screws no more than 4" (102 mm) apart.
- Apply the Tile: Confirm the door opens properly, then tile the hatch and wall separately.
- Install the Safety Cable: Wipe away any grout with a damp cloth, then attach the safety cable.
